I realize that things in the US are definitely going in the direction showing this issue should be raised. I do however maintain some kind of hope that this increasing trend of religion influencing government is a fad. I hope I’m not wrong because with these things it’s usually too late when you figure it out. For that reason I appreciate the efforts mentioned in this article.

I do definitely feel that lately religion has had way too many effects in all branches of government but I don’t see it as having a discriminatory effect. Although I guess that’s not entirely true as Bush has removed funding from non-Religious-based charity organizations. So maybe they’re correct already…
