Interesting debate on the The State of Nature. Are things quickly getting worse? Or are things getting better? I know what I think, but it’s an interesting discussion.

Two years ago European scientists claimed that not only is global warming possible, but it’s already in full swing and will be irreversible within 10 years.
The fatal flaw in human nature is this: if you were interested enough in the state of nature to read an article, you’ve probably already made up your mind that global warming is a reality. And yet, you’d be in the minority because most people aren’t interested.
The powers that be are trying to convince everyone that global warming is another Y2K, a man-made threat that will unnecessarily alarm people before it fizzles out. Couldn’t this just be a few freak years in a row? Couldn’t it just as easily reverse itself next year? Isn’t nature unpredictable like that?
Well, sure, nature probably seems unpredictable if your only science lessons involved intelligent design. How can we be sure the earth will continue to revolve around the sun or that ozone levels are tied to natural phenomena? Can’t we just pray these irregularities back into sync?
