Is it time to get back into the market?
May 11
The 3-month index charts are starting to look decent. It may be time to start getting back into equities with my retirement savings.
For my retirement savings I’m not trying to time the market at all, just trying to get back in when prices are still relatively low and most importantly avoid another 50%+ drop. I feel pretty safe we won’t see another huge drop given some of the economic data we’ve seen recently indicating shrinkage has slowed.
What do other people think? Feeling safe to get back into equities?

I think we’ve hit the new bottom, but I don’t thing we’re going to bounce back. This month’s been a bit shakier than last month. The manufacturing sector seems uncertain whether to ramp back up again. Companies are staying in their newly-downsized forms rather than pick up with hiring. Everyone is waiting on someone else to lead the way. It seems like a plateau, but it could just be the eye of the storm.
So I guess the answer is, if you’re looking for rock bottom deals, now’s probably a good time. Althought stocks slipped a bit today. Maybe next month.
