Good rant: if you ignore climate science, why not all science?

I agree with his sentiment, from Friday rant — heat exhaustion edition:
“We are apparently going to let the debate on the science run until hell freezes over. If you can’t accept the conclusions of 98 percent of the scientists whose FIELD IT IS, then why even bother with science? If that high a percentage of field of study is to be discounted ENTIRELY, then we are in deep trouble, which, of course, we are.”
It’s frustrating that there’s absolutely no reasonable ground remaining for the deniers to stand on, yet everyone wants to appear “fair” so they still get their equal time and can basically block any progress on the issue. Real journalism isn’t giving equal air time to two sides of a debate where one side was factually proven wrong many years ago, unless the story is “how bad do you feel now that you’ve been proven wrong and are seen by many as being insane for continuing to push your bad ideas?”

Both sides are wrong and stupid. Both sides are now totally into their own ideology, which sucks for the world. There is ocean cooling, which believers deny, there is What causes GW? where both sides won’t concede. This is not black/white, this is All Of It, the entire climatic evolution and how it affects weather. I despise both sides. One can only hang onto models, one insists cycles are involved, I believe both. It’s f’ing easier. Wish the 2 sides could too. Why TF any one of us can possibly delude ourselves into thousands of years of weirdo-ism’s by scientists (who dig their huge allowances to research) or the deniers who are mostly wealthy and want to hang on, hang on, is the question. Don’t take sides, take reality. Please.

I’ve decided I don’t believe in Math. You can’t prove to me that you can multiply two numbers together and somehow magically know the answer. The sure way to know is to pray to God to appear to you in the form of a number of burning bushes equal to the product of the two numbers.
That’s why I now refuse to pay taxes. The IRS may have heathen computers that say I owe them money, but my Creation Math tells me that they owe me!

@Molly: What I don’t understand is, why does anyone think there’s a mass coordinated conspiracy between almost every scientist in the world? Does anyone think they’d lose their jobs if climate change were accepted by everyone as either right or wrong? They’d be paid to research other things.
Science is somewhat different than other jobs in that claims you make have to be checked by others. Sure, someone can completely fudge some numbers, but it will be found out.
